WHY ARE MIRRORS IMPORTANT?
THE INVENTION OF RAY HARROUN
Believe it or not, when cars were invented, they didn’t have mirrors. In 1911 Ray Harroun and his car, the Marmon "Wasp", ran the inaugural Indy 500 with the very first rear-view mirror. His competitors all had a copilot to tell them who was behind. Unburdened by the extra weight & able to make faster decisions, Ray won by far.
Since then all the cars began to use mirrors. Without rear-view mirrors on cars, one can imagine chaos & confusion on the street
